David Sedaris' Santaland Diaries is becoming a holiday
classic for those attuned to the dark side of Christmas. While still a
relatively new New York City aspiring writer, Sedaris took a temporary
job working as an elf in Santaland at Macy's and encountered the gritty
underbelly of the Santa racket. His darkly hilarious essay was later
converted for the stage. Tickets $15.
I realize that this is a small theatre troop with limited assets, but this was a very poor production. The actor had no timing and fumbled his lines throughout the act. I saw this in Atlanta and it was possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen. Maybe the next show they do will be better........
